The word luxury is synonymous with the word Lexus. Leroy’s 2001 Lexus IS300 is in “pursuit of perfection” with a VIP inspired style. Leroy Taylor began working on cars at the age of eighteen. He was also working for Team Lexus at this age. This is where he first gained valuable experience working on the Grand-Am Cup IS300 as well as their American Le-Mans Series IS350TT GT cars. Unfortunately Team Lexus was shutdown in late 2006. What I find interesting was finding that Leroy wasn’t sold on owning a Lexus until he saw a blue IS300 in a magazine. His VIP style inspired Lexus IS300 definitely holds its own on the show scene.
In the VIP world, fitment is the key word. This Lexus IS300 definitely follows that suit. The WALD Body kit is installed to the body lines of this car with great fitment. To further accentuate the exterior, a TRD Carbon Fiber Hood with paint matched sides has been installed along with a JDM Altezza Grill and Altezza Window Visors.
Leroy’s wheel setup consists of a set of discontinued AME Circular Spec M that is staggered. A set of Dunlop Sport Max 225 35 19’s wrap the 19 x 8.5 +35 fronts. While a set of 235 35 19 wrap the 19 x 9.5 +30 rears. Leroy had to roll and pull the fenders in order to clear before he adjusted his HKS Hyper Max II Coilovers to its current stance. A set of TRD Front and Rear Underbody braces were also installed to stiffen the chassis along with a Cusco Rear strut bar.
Performance wise, this Lexus has been given an HP Racing Header and Y-Pipe that’s mated to a Greddy EVO II Exhaust. This system gives this IS300 its aggressive tone. A few key pieces in the engine bay such as a Greddy Oil Cap, Radiator Plate, LMS Heat Shield and the Painted Engine Covers gives it a nice clean look.
As of right now Leroy is happy with the current setup of his car. He feels that it can always be better, so he is considering changing the body kit for a new one along with a fresh set of wheels.
